NUBC is updating the UB-92
The NUBC is updating the UB-92; it will be replaced by the UB-04 paper form. During the period March 1, 2007 through May 22, 2007, providers that use paper forms for claim submission will be able to submit either the UB-92 or the UB-04 form. CMS expects to discontinue acceptance of UB-92 forms effective May 23, 2007. HIPAA requires submission of National Provider Identifiers (NPIs) on claims effective May 23, 2007, and the UB-92 does not have a field for reporting of NPIs. The dates of this transition period were established by the NUBC. Further information on the UB-92 and the UB-04 is available through the NUBC web site.
CMS cannot begin to implement the UB-04 until Office and Management and Budget approval is received for that form, as required under the Paperwork Reduction Act. Further information will be furnished on CMS implementation plans for the UB-04 once that approval has been obtained.

Welcome...
The National Renal Administrators Association (NRAA) is a nonprofit organization representing professional managers of dialysis facilities and centers throughout the United States. NRAA members include renal administrators, nurse managers, nurses, medical directors, technicians and financial/billing managers for dialysis clinics, which provide life-sustaining dialysis care to the majority of Medicare End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) patients. From a few charter members in 1977, NRAA has become a respected leader in the dialysis community and the only organization representing the operational concerns of dialysis facilities.

NRAA represents the interests of ALL facilities—hospital-based and freestanding, for-profit and non-profit, independent and chain, urban and rural. Through education, networking, information sharing, and governmental representation, NRAA strives to ensure competence and enhance professionalism throughout the renal community.

NRAA membership is the single best way to:

  • Stay abreast of the ever-changing ESRD program,
  • Influence legislation and regulations, which affect dialysis facilities,
  • Develop a peer group of knowledgeable colleagues, and
  • Grow in your profession as a Renal Management Professional.
